Dr. Jenny Peterson

Faculty Advisor

Dr. Jenny Peterson (she/her) is the Faculty Advisor for the UBC Human Rights Collective. Jenny Peterson joined the department from the Humanitarian & Conflict Response Institute (Manchester) where she worked as a lecturer from 2009-2013. Tamara Baldwin (she/her) is the Director of the Office of Regional and International Community Engagement (ORICE) at the University of British Columbia (which the UBC Human Rights Collective is housed under). After completing a transformative year-round exchange program at Sciences Po in France, Aida is currently embarking on the final year of her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of British Columbia. Shogofa Alizada

Shogofa (she/her) is a second-year student pursuing Geography (Environment & Sustainability) with a minor in GIS and Geographical Computations. A Hazara from Afghanistan, she moved to the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples in 2017. She is joining the UBC HRC as a student researcher for the ICF-Afghanistan project. When not working or studying, Shogofa can be found hiking, reading, and exploring the city with friends.
