The Scholars At Risk initiative at UBC spans across the three arms of SAR’s work – protection, learning, and advocacy.
Led by Dr. Jenny Peterson, the experiential human rights research project is funded by the UBC PURE grant. Through this project, we will develop resources and support faculty across multiple departments to integrate SAR human rights research projects into their courses in a number of different ways. The project is supported by the Office of the Dean of Arts, Office of the Vice Provost International, the Scholars at Risk Network and the Office of Regional and International Community Engagement (ORICE).
This project focuses primarily in the learning and advocacy arms of the Scholars at Risk mandate and complements the protection work carried out under the VP Academic.
